The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
Two rounds of 20 holes, one throw per hole per player.
Holes are generally between 180 and 250 feet (55 to 75 meters).
Entry fee: $25
Two identical Discraft discs (see below), plus a SuperColor mini and a Discraft hat. A $55 value!
Rules of play:
Players are required to use the player package discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player has the option of using the second disc from the package. Only one throw per player per hole. Groups of up to eight players are generally acceptable, depending on course, time of day and TD discretion. Each player should have their own scorecard and mark "A" for aces and "M" for holes on which they hit metal.
After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players keep their scorecards for round two, using the next line on the card to record the round.
The Discraft Ace Race is fun for everyone.
The player with the most aces after 36 holes is declared the winner. In case of ties, the number of metal hits is used as a tie breaker. If a tie persists, a closest to the pin contest is then used to determine the event winner.
Last date to guarantee yourself a package is Tuesday 16 September. Late adds will be worked in, it just may be a wait to get your completed package.
Contact Eric either here, email to djej at yahoo dot com or call 440-897-0541. Flyers will be distributed at Euclid scrambles and possibly The Cleveland Roc.
Here is the info on this year's disc:
It's a zippy, small-diameter midrange. Slightly overstable with great glide... think Buzzz Junior. Will hold a line in a moderate headwind, but isn't crazy overstable or too tough to handle at slow speeds or in calm conditions.
Everyone competing in the 2008 Ace Race will receive two of these new Discraft prototypes in their player's package. Have fun... it's going to be a riot!
