Tournament Description

Winter is the time of year to be on the move, to stay warm.
So fly south this year. To the Big Island for the Tenth annual BIG ISLAND OPEN
. Bring your bag and Ray-Bans and come ready to play at the edge of the world.
Three big days in Mackenzie State park. January 23rd 24th and 25th.
Great Golf, great weather, great food and great Rock & Roll. And we are all camping and will have some tents to stay in under cover. Car pool from the airport and save more.Stop at walmart and buy camping gear for this trip for three people for less than the cost of a room for one night.

Registration deadline is 6:00 pm Friday the 23rd.Be among the first ten to register for the tournament for a chance to win meal tickets for the weekend.
The fun starts Friday afternoon with the traditional open doubles round.
Then an evening under the stars. Rock & Roll with the Dave Seawater band back for the fourth year.
We will likely have a night round too.
Players meeting at 8:00 am Saturday
18 holes starting at 8:30am
Lunch and then another round of 18 holes.
Saturday night
Dinner and drink are provided for a fee. Meal/party tickets go on sale December first. $75 for the works
That's Dinner from the grill Friday night followed by
Rock & Roll and refreshments.
Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner with more Rock & Roll and refreshments Saturday evening.
Sunday breakfast, lunch and Pizza early evening before the awards.Single meal tickets also available.

Sunday player meeting at 8:30 am
Tee off at 9am.
18 holes and lunch.
And then the final 9.
Ring of fire and other fun and games for and drawings for great prizes
And then the awards presentation.

Comment by castawaydave on December 22, 2008 at 11:55am: we spent another sunday making new holes in Mackenzie. We now have 7 new hole carved out of the Rugged Puna coast Ironwood forest. Challanging holes in a beautiful place.
We hope you can make this year.

We are staying in Mackenzie State park all weekend and the camping is great. Save hotel and car rental by making it a group trip. Food and drink will be there and there is a Walmart in Hilo. Camping gear can be had for the price of one night in a cheap room.
