Tournament Description

We had a great time. Below are the team scores, by division, with the first place winners in bold. Note that we played a modified Ponds Course with a shortened B, no C or D, no 18, but with temporary Holes W, X, Y, and Z. Competitive played long tees (women from short), all others played short. Best-shot doubles. Registration fees, with a little kick-in from the Throw Shop, contributed a cool $1,000 to SOS Community.

Ben Calhoun won the distance competition by throwing 444 feet. The winner of the two nights at the Eagle Crest Marriott hotel, which was a CTP contest, was Chris Kaufman, (aka "Murray). No one got an Ace, which was what was needed to win the 42" Toshiba Plasma television.

The Discilanti Open is a first annual disc golf tournament and 100% fundraiser to benefit SOS Community Services.

Who: Super Friends Productions, emYOU! The Magazine, SOS Community Services.

What: So much more than a disc golf tournament! Beer tent, pizza eating contest, artisan bazaar, live music, cornhole (bags) tournament, food and a ton of fun!

When: Saturday, October 10 from 2-7pm. Registration begins at 12pm.

Where: The Ponds of Lake Shore in Ypsilanti; located on the property of The Lake Shore Apartments.

Why: Our goal is to raise $10,000 for SOS, oh and to have an amazing time doing so!

It will be a 24 hole tournament. 3 Divisions: Pro, Amateur 1,and Amateur 2. Separate cash (or non cash) prizes for each division.

2 People per team. Play the best throw. Teams will play in foursomes (2 teams/hole).

"Mini-Games"= The Longest Drive and Hole in 1 will begin at 1:00, tournament at 2:00. Prizes include Toshiba 42" Plasma TV and an overnight stay and breakfast for 2 at the Ann Arbor Marriott.

Comment by Tim on September 28, 2009 at 3:06pm: The cost for the tournament is $15/player. If you choose your teammate it's an additional $10. Suggested donation for non-players who are coming for the beer tent, live music, artisan bazaar, cornhole (bags) tournament and other festivities is $2.73.
