The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
We are excited to announce the that the 2009 Hawaii State Disc Championships will be held this year on the Island of Hawaii during the weekend of Friday night, July 31, through Sunday, August 2. The tournament will take place in the towns of Kapa'au and Waimea near the
northern tip of the Island.
The tentative format is as follows:
Beginning at 6pm Friday night, under the lights of King Kamehameha Park in Kapa'au, will be the two Self Caught Flight events of Throw Run Catch and Maximum Time Aloft.
Then, Saturday will continue with Accuracy, Distance, Discathon, and DDC. It's a busy day, so be prepared! The good news is that King Kamehameha Park includes a swimming pool with shower facility, so in between games you can cool off in the pool.
Sunday will complete with a round of disc golf either at the Hawaii
Preparatory Academy course or at Parker School, both of which are in Waimea. Events should be completed by 1pm Sunday.
We will post information on lodging solutions in a forthcoming email,
but in the meantime, please mark these dates so that you can attend. To
assist us in being adequately prepared, if you do plan on attending,
please drop us an email.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible. Now get those
discs out and get practicing!
