Tournament Description

This event is a Virtual Jumbo Toss with a twist. In order to make your toss, you have to provide us with a testimonial from a township, city, county, state, or other official which tells us how good disc golf has been for them in their park.

What Do You Win?

A brand new, limited edition, Fade Gear "Hat Rack Black" Tourney Bag - donated by Fade Gear in support of new course development.

Help Us Build a Course Development Resource!

See the sample testimonial we've already posted here in DGRUS. Yours doesn't have to be that long. But it does have to be from a real official of some kind, and you need to get their permission for us to post the testimonial and for others to use it - to persuade parks and other officials to get new courses installed!

You get the words, post them in the Comments to this event (below) and we'll add them to our resource - which will be available for anyone to use.

Get Creative! The parks official or city official, or whatever, that you contact can say how a course made a park safer, how it serves so many people and it so inexpensive, that it is so environmentally friendly compared to other park recreation, that disc golfers are great to work with - whatever. We just want to have good things from real people available for anyone to use to persuade other officials.

Not from a town official, but close enough! :)

The board of trustees, staff and clients of Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry (the largest food pantry in North-Central Massachusetts) would like to thank Devens Disc Golf and all of the participants in Devens Disc Golf's first Ice Cube Open Ice Bowl.

Held on Feb. 2, the tournament players braved the elements on a very windy day and not only played, but also raised over $300 in contributions and a truckload of food for Loaves & Fishes. We are very grateful for their ongoing support and admire their fortitude in playing the game, too.

The local course is highland springs disc golf course. Put in in 1980 by the man himself (steady Ed). We just started a new club and have over 100 members. Things are going really well here in northern california, Lakeport.

The two disc golf courses located where I live in Birmingham, Alabama: George Ward Park and Civitan Park are a big success. The regular amount of disc golfers at George Ward has actually made the city park a safer, family enviroment. Disc golf is great and I see it growing everyday in Birmingham!

Volunteers play a key role at Lemon Lake County Park. The Red Roc disc golf organization has been responsible for helping to establish and maintain the championship disc golf course at the park. The Indiana State Disc Golf Tournament is completely run by volunteers. Recreation is the key word at Lemon Lake. With a great creative playground, volleyball courts, and cross country ski programs in the winter Lemon Lake is a recreational favorite. www.lakecountyparks.com
