Comment by HENRY "MENACE" REID on January 14, 2013 at 11:33am Plan A. Or possibly, I would like to see Plan A with ALL divisions playing longs in morning then shorts in afternoon, except maybe ladies (they can decide as a group). This way everyone gets to see all that debary has to offer. If no one else feels the same, no big deal, plan A it is.
i ment plan A
I like plan B .. The old 9 was fun .. thats the past..now we have 18 and some of us want to get ready for the open......
Comment by TheBfunky1 on January 11, 2013 at 7:29pm Well lucky for those folks this is not the Open...then we could worry about pad issues or complaints. We All want great pads too (and they will be be soon) but as a fun event to rasise funds and celebrate DeBary, I am sure it will be ok. Besides we play both versions at club weeklies anyways. Hardest part will be US marking them for actual play... meaning they are not the modified ones (unless we do for safety).
The one (A) is what we will play at the Open as it is the new full 18.
The other (B) was intended to nod to both the current/future and our 9 hole legacy.
pretty simple intents.
Pads to be determined by division , primarily.
So... we have Vic's Vote for Format A...
I am split 50/50 between the 2. But if under the gun... Format B
I vote for plan "C".
Sorry about being difficult.
But I have heard some people complaining.
There complaints have dealt with tee pads for the
18 hole layout.
Plan "C".......
18 holes of short pads
then
18 holes from the long pads.
You know mix it up.
But if that can not be done, I'll vote for "A"
Comment by TheBfunky1 on January 11, 2013 at 5:54pm Also...
As for format I want ask the players that will participate which is prefered
A
2 Rounds of 18 (New/ Full Course)
or
B
1 round original (9 short/9 Long)
and 1 Round on the New/Full 18
Post your answer here...and get the word out layout with the most votes gets played.
Comment by TheBfunky1 on January 11, 2013 at 5:47pm Good Question as Always Vic...
It is based on and will be done like the cross course challenge. It is primarily a fundraiser so any "return"/payout is a bonus for the player (and a cost to the club). As much as we would love to offer more options... If I am not mistaken there were no special provisions for women playing it (ccc) or the dog days. Though I agree that score wise they may not contend and that that may be unfair, We simply cannot afford what you suggest. We can however offer stips such as short pads or perhaps create an exemption/entry for Top Female Player (no trophy disc). The trophies are already in production so as for adding or changing we couldn't. And that is with a requisite minimum of 4 Females Playing. We could also pool together other options and funds to make a "prize pack" for the Top Female.
How many women do we know will play FOR SURE?
Now of course for the tournament there will be complete range of divisions and levels to play at.
Any more ideas and questions please put them here or in an email ASAP.
BFunky1,
You had stated that there'll be three divisions (Open/Pro, Advance and
Amateur). And that the top three will get Trophy Discs with the top finisher
getting their enterance into the Official Debary Open paid for. That sounds
great, but I do have a question........
What about females ? Will they get their own three divisions, their
own trophies, their own enterance paid for ? Or will they be dumped in
with the men and have to compete with an unfair advantage ?
