Anyone making plans yet?

From where i like (Kalamazoo, MI) its only a 10 hour drive to MO according to MapQuest, which really means its like a 7 or 8 hour drive! it'ddbe cool if some of us guys from MI could car pool or bunk up together in hotels there to save some doe! we should get it figured out so we dont have to worry about it.

I am considering going, but travel and accommodation has not been thought out. I will get back to you when it is a couple months prior.
This site will hopefully lead to lots of ride-shares and hotel hookups all across the country for the worlds. No one should be going it alone if they can help someone else cut the cost in half.
Good call Josh. I am planning on going but my step brother just took a job there and I may be staying with him. I am also not sure if I will still be here in MI then, as I am graduating this month and the job market is not in this state at the moment unfortunately.
we need to roll into Kansas City as one big Michigan Mob.
I really want to go!!! I just don't have the money to do so at the time being. Have you seen the hotel their trying to get everyone to stay in? Its ridiculous, but looks awsome. I really think i'm gonna go but saving up like 1500 bucks to go is gonna be the hard part. But it would be sweet to get some local people together to get suite or something. If someone want to arrange something i'm all ears!!!
There are a couple of hotels that have some cheaper rates(by A LOT!) that aren't NEARLY as expensive. I will find something good in the months to come.
i live in the KC metro area and will tell ya...you'll love KC. fun city to play in for sure. do not b afraid of hotel prices, do a lil lookin there r hundreds of them in the metro area...anywhere u stay is within 20-30 mins of any given course...the interstates take u everywhere quick and easy gas is $1.40 gal and we have kickass BBQ hope to see ya here
I thought about checking out the Worlds. I live in Kalamazoo and didn't get to be involved at all this year. But what does an Am like me do to get in?
And as a cheaper alternative to hotel stays, has anyone thought about camping for the duration. Gotta be some campsites in the area, right?

if your not invited from previous wins you just have to pay the $150ish entery fee. then you can play your little heart out.
I knew some guys that camped this year at worlds, and they were miserable from camping by the end of the week. Finding someone to split a room with is the way to go. I had a one person suite in Kalamazoo this year that cost $175 for the week! It had a kitchenette with a full size fridge and freezer, free laundry. It was well worth it, cheaper than Red Roof. It was within a 1/4 mile of the host hotel, which was nice because that was tournament central. Just gotta look hard and you can find a lot cheaper places than what they usually list as a host hotel.

$175 bucks for a full week is an awsome price, also if any of guys thinkin about going to worlds hasn't seen the courses being played, discgolfcoursereview.com has pictures of every hole and every course being played in the worlds. Do your homework!!!
