The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
NEWS UPDATE - after 4 years of planning 18 holes on 12 acres of the 300 acres available for recreational day use at BCSRA, the design " didn't effectively consider the wetlands and natural inhabitants to the degree necessary for such environmentally important and sensitive land ". Upon the insistance of those paid stewards of our state lands, all of the funds were given back and the four year project for an 18 hole course has essentially been scraped. Disc golfers are not to be discouraged though, in 2013 the BCSRA has committed to explore the possibility for suitable land to accommodate an 9 hole DGC.

Permalink Reply by get your discs and godiscn on January 19, 2012 at 12:49pm The disc golf community can help. Click on the link to the petition to read details of the 2011 18 hole disc golf course project at Bay City State Recreation Area that ended with all funds being returned to the donors and granting agency. It could be of great benefit if the petition linked below gets passed around and supported. Although typical flat Bay County terrain, the property is excellent and would have the waters of Lake Huron in view 100% of the time while playing the course and enjoying all that Bay City State Recreation Area has to offer.

Permalink Reply by Destraayer on January 19, 2012 at 1:09pm Glad to hear more DG coming to my beautiful home state. I'm currently building a disc golf course at Bertha Brock County Park in Ionia, MI. Also, the Ionia State Recreational Area just contacted me and told me that they have grant money to put toward a course at their park in Ionia. So, yeah, go Michigan disc golf! GO!
