The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I'm heading to San Diego for a quick turn-around for work and am thinking about hitting E.I. on the way back. I could probably play around 2PM. I'll check my messages when I get down there. If anyone wants to play shoot me an email with your number so we can hook up.
Thanks!
Chris

Howzit,

If I was in S.D. I would love to play, but am in Hawaii.... My folks live about 10 miles away from their, and I have played their many times.
How's the disc scene in Hawaii? I'm toying with the idea of moving there. I heard there aren't any courses there yet though...
:(
Aloha Chris,

There's a lot more disc golf going on here then you might expect. It really all depends on the Island. On Maui for example, there are two basket courses now, one public, one private (although you can play the private one anytime, once you know the layout, and if you think De Lavega is a challenge, wait till you play Poli Poli), and the local disc golf community is very active. On Oahu there aren't any basket courses yet, however that may change REAL soon. There are however two very nice full-time object courses (UHM, and Sand Island - - both in town), and the local disc golf organization (www.hdga.org) is very active and has monthly tournaments (all over the island) on various temp courses using baskets of course. On the big island - - there is one private (members only) basket course under construction, and 3-4 very nice object courses scattered around the island. The Big Island also has a very active disc golf club and community over there (http://www.hcdc.us/). Not sure about Kauai - - I'm sure that there are guys throwing over there, and I've heard rumors of an object course at the community college.
I appreciate the heads up! Mahalo!
:)
