Are there any methods that people use for breaking in new discs?

Since discs and car tires are both composed of man-made polymers, I wonder if heat-cycling would accelerate the break-in period on discs like it does for tires?

Any good metrics on how long the various disc materials take to break in?

OK this is what you do. first thing you need is a left handed rubber mallet them get your self some glass nails so not to scratch your new disc ok then youll need some Bush light 12 of them and a Full Sail or Red Hook just to get the going good to start .then you take this down to the most woody course near you but if you must dive far its worth it but then youll need a big cooler for the beer and you mite need some snacks too when you get there drink all the beer grab your disc and throw as hard you can .OK that should get that thing nice and toned in .

I like Swamptoy's advice. I would try this approach first.
I would say just to play disc golf with them! If you slam them into anything too hard, you could risk tacoing the discs, which is not going to help.

Garrett had the best idea, play some 1-disc rounds with the disc, you'll learn the disc and start to break it in at the same time!
