1st: Rizbee/Deadeye Tommy Vincent - 17 under (new doubles record)
2nd: Paul M./Todd W. - 13 under (won playoff)
3rd: Seth/Todd (a different Todd, whose last name escapes me...sorry!) - 13 under
Tommy played amazing golf today - he putted so well I only had to putt on 4 holes. He also hit the basket on #6 long and hit chains (hard) on #8. Also, the group we played in was fabulous - -17, -13 and -11, and many great shots. in fact, -10 was the worst score of the five groups.
I'll be gone for the next two Mondays (Tour de Rizbee 2008), so Don V. and Dave V. will run doubles the next two weeks.
Great night at Montiel Doubles last night!! 21 players made for a big prize pot. No aces, but the pool has quickly jumped back up to $61. I'll post some "temporary" results right now, missing a few names, but I'll fix it later:
Results for Monday, July 21, 2008:
1st - Cent/coin that costs two cents to make - 16 under ($36)
2nd - Mike "Shaman" Shaw/Kahuna Bob - 12 under (won playoff - $22)
3rd - Lusty Mike/Jim? - 12 under (lost playoff - $16)
4th - Seth/Justin? - 11 under ($10)
CTP - Rizbee - Hole #3 Short (Honorable mention to DEVO, who would have won CTP (and $61) with an ace if his shot would have been 6 inches higher)
Thanks to Dave Vincent and Primediscs.com for the CTP prize!! We will have a CTP prize from now on, always on one of the shorter holes.
Monday 7/28/08 Doubles Results for Montiel Park DGC:
1st: Jonathon Maki/Tommy Vincent - 14 under par ($30)
2nd: Brendon Wear /Alex Lawn - 12 under par (won playoff) ($20)
3rd: John Maki/Brittney Breed - 12 under par ($16)
4th: Don Vincent/ Jeff Winter - 11 under par ($10)
Montiel is consistently getting 20 players for doubles now. Ace pot is at $79 - Brittney almost collected it with her first throw of the round on #9. Jeff Winter talks more during a round of golf than anyone I have ever met...and most of it is pretty funny.
Monday 8/18/08 Doubles Results for Montiel Park DGC:
1st: Maki the Younger/Kahuna Bob - 17 under par (ties record)
2nd: Maki the Elder/Alex (I won't go for the obvious nickname)Lawn - 16 under par
3rd: ¢/TTrevor - 15 under par
4th: Todd Rolls Royce/Chris Hartman, Chris Hartman - 13 under par
Unbelieveable shooting on Monday. ¢ finishes his round first, thinking that he had 1st wrapped up with 15 down. Nope! I think some of these NC boys are primed for Sunday...
Monday 9/1/08 Doubles Results for Montiel Park DGC:
1st: Rizbee/Cashman Returns! - 14 under par
2nd: Todd Rolls Royce/Scott Turf - 13 under par
3rd: World Mini Champion Carl Beanieman Renda Esq./Alex Fescue - 12 under par
Small turnout last night - we played as one monstrous 9-some (which casued the casual twosomes all kinds of nuisance - not a good thing) so everyone knew how all the other teams were playing. Thanks to 1st-time player Mark (Todd's friend) for the CTP prizes - CORR tickets!
Monday 9/8/08 Doubles Results for Montiel Park Disc Golf Course:
1st: Jon Maki/Scott Bowers -14
2nd: Scot Golia/Rusty (Kahuna Bob Jr.) -13
3rd: Mike Shaw/Mark -12
3rd: Allen Risley/Jacob -11
Hole in one: Mike Pearson - Hole #5-long
We had 20 players on Monday - a great turnout! Several new players, including Jacob, who cashed in his first "organized tournament...that is if you can call this an organized tournament." Mike Pearson aced #5-long to get the ace pot. That's the first time an ace pot was won from a long tee. Mike is also the first 2-time ace pot winner. I'm taking bets on him for the Ace Race...
