Hey Everyone,
So my roommate and I just completed the world's first ever (I think) Disc Golf Coffee Table!! I figured I'd share what we did, just in case you're interested. We measured enough room for 12 disc (36 inches long, 28 inches wide). We got a piece of wood cut to that size, then got 1 inch pieces of wood that were 36 inches long (we cut 2 of the blocks down to 26 inches (28 minus 1 inch on each side). We got 4 table legs, and a big piece of plexiglass to go on top (we had that cut at a glass store). We stained all the wood, which was the only real time consuming part. The total project cost $130. Please let me know if you have any questions. And please post any disc golf related furniture here...
Yeah Dave- pretty sweet! I think I wanna make one now. Oh wait... no room for it! That's definitely an awesome way to share some of those special discs!
sweet, you need some tape or a tiny amount of glue on the back of the discs.. so they don't move around. Great idea!! I think I might try it, although I pretty sure I can cut the cost by at least half.... why didn't you make the table the exact size of 3x4 discs?
sweet table man!
Bobd,
Awesome! I'm glad you're going to go for it. You can definitely cut the cost in half if you're handy or if you have all your tools. We made the table 36 inches long so that it would fit 4 discs and leave a little room for error (and variable disc size), plus we had to make less cuts on the wood and plexiglass. You could definitely make the table the exact size of the discs and it would probably look pretty sweet. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing the final product.
