The site has changed

I dont know what going on but things have changed on this site to the point that I most likely wont use it any more. The chat was first to get totaly messed up. Then they changed our own pages to the point they just look like junk. Now I go to down load pics and they changed how that gets dont now. What Is wrong with leaving thing the way they were. Sure I bet i know the argument that will be made. The site is expanding and growing so fast that its getting bogged down andy they are trying to make things run better and smoother. Well it not better. And why are they trying to grow so fast ? all that is going to do is force the sight to become like the pdga site or any huge site on the web . borring and inpersonal. Any others feel this way???

First off Jamie Stuff it.
Second Terry welcome back. Hope your trip was enjoyeable and unforgetable. I really do like the site, or did, and am glad that you gave discgolfers a better place to hang out . It cool see profiles from every state on here.
Thank you terry for seeing My post as an observation and criticism and not just an out right Whine as Jamie who turned very rude quikly pointed out.
My problem is mainly that I'm am very very computer eliterate and I so enjoyed this site when it first came out because of how so very simple it was to use. It even moved at a mellow pace like i do when I'm on the computer. Sure it took a minute to down load a dozen pictures at once. Sure the chat page lagged a few seconds. But hey I'm in my fourtys and dont move all that fast my self I'm not in any big hury. I didn't have to down load this program or that program to do the things i wanted to do. I have enough crud on my computer Already thats boging it down. The wife always warnes me not to down load stuff from other sites cause of so many Media players and other programs that you down load from site that ask you to do so to use thier chats or veiw their pages have spy wares.
That is the quist of why I enjoyed the way the site was before it started really taking off.

Appreciate that, Jamie. I feel much the same way, although people think I am a techie. One of the issues with Live Chat is that only a handful of people like it at all, and when it was on the front page I got regular complaints about it being there. That said, I would put the chat on the front page, because it does make it more active, except that the one we have been trying out won't work on the front page - and most people seem to like it better than the old one.

Anyway, I'm back now, and busy at work during the day but I will have some time to look things over carefully and se what I can tweak to work better among all the new stuff from the upgrade. Glad you enjoy being CONNECTED. Make the most of it!

Personally, i like the site all around. You wont be able to make everyone happy because thats impossible. But i want to thank you ,Terry, for even creating a place for disc golfers to hang out online. Change is necessary for progression. If change did not occur, we would still be cavemen (in my case, still a slave...lol). All we can do is 'man up' and take the growing pains. (woman up for the women...lol).

Thanks, but, hey, this has actually been pretty harmless compared to what DISCussion has sometimes been like. Not everyone knows how to express a constructive criticism in the most civil way :)

I remain delighted that, except for the handful of people - like the fellow who joined last week as "Fartinson McPoophead"*** and immediately posted a bunch of scatological stuff - folks in here are enjoying an respecting a friendly, family-friendly place. Let's keep it that way!!!!

*** Yes, he is banned, twice, with a follow-up email inviting him back in if he'll adjust his persona and postings.

I hope you know I was just busting your chop about putting the chat page back, you said you'd put it back and that someone would complain about it, so I thought I would do it in a humorus way. So does that mean Fartinson Mcpoophead is up for grabs LOL I hope theres not a wait list for that name.

I caught on at once, Jack. Ten years ago my kids said my epitaph should be "Didn't have a clue." Now I actually catch the snark as it happens . . . once in a while!

You know what was strange about Fartinson? His first response when I banned the identity was an outraged "Why?" Sigh.
