Sioux Passage is my favorite course of all time--White Birch is my most nostalgic course, and Creve Coeur used to be my daily practice course...damn, I miss the STL sometimes!
Yep, Sioux is definitely at the top of my list too, even though it kicks my butt every time I'm there. What an amazing, majestic course. I felt like I was stealing because I didn't have to pay to play the first time I was there. And yes, the Mighty MO does have some awesome courses: STL, KC, and everything in between!

Sorry to make you homesick, Ryan, but I hope you're enjoying the perks of NM. (I imagine myself being in a similar situation a few years from now...who knows where the job market will take me!) Anyway, happy hucking in NM for now. I'll toss a few for you off the 'top of the world' at Sioux, #13, next time I'm there.
When did sioux go to pay to play? The last time I played it was 2003--I'm a colorado native (I spent 8 years in the STL gettin' edumacated) so NM fits my world a little better--but my fondness for St. Louis will never fade...

I do plan to play all the old courses I learned on next month--I have a ten day thanksgiving vacation to the ol' stomping grounds from the 20th-30th--will you be around? I will certainly be looking for some locals to play with!
Sorry for the confusion. Sioux is still free and open to the public, as always. It just looks so much like a country club that I often feel like I'm stealing because it isn't pay-to-play. (White Birch is really the only STL course that costs $, but its only a buck or so and I always end up there on weekends when the office is closed.)

Thanks for the clarification on your origins. I'm originally from STL, but I've been living in Columbia getting educated at Mizzou for the past ten years. I'm not sure on the specifics yet, but I'll definitely be around during that time-frame and I'd love to meet up for a round if we can work it out. Give me a shout some time closer to your trip and we'll iron out the details...
Hmmm...for various reasons I can't name all of them, but I have played in Colorado (10), Wyoming (3), New Mexico (7), Arizona (6), California (5), Oregon (2), Kansas (3), Missouri (12), Illinois (3), Ohio (2), Alabama (1), and Florida (4). Numbers are approximate...
