The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I have been in a funk now for about 2 weeks, I try to get out to the course once a day and for the last couple of weeks my scores are insane. I normally shoot between 5 and 3 down, but lately its been 3 to 6 over and yesterday I shot a 10 over. Bad right, so does anybody have any suggestions before I bogey or double bogey every hole. Thanx

It happens to all of us. Sometimes it helps if you take a week or so off, but that sucks.

Try going to a course you've never played before or, at least, one that you don't play that often.
sometimes a break in golf is needed,we tend to think about the game to much, hell i go sleep thinking about the days shots, and wake up thinking about the first hole,. and a break from play is a chance for the body to rest,..hang with the wife or girlfriend for a couple of days, and head back out,you will be hungry for chains.....
I agree. A break will work wonders. I have gotten to the point where I can only allow myself to play 2 or 3 rounds a week. If I play everyday, I tend to over think every shot. And if you can't stay away from the course for more than a couple of days, just go out and practice your putting and upshots.
it happens.
try not to think about how good or bad you threw yesterday...its a new new day/round,go out there enjoy it.
i try to think of the shot i need to throw and not worry about how ive shot a hole before.
This slump is all in your head and you have let it linger too long already. 2 days is too long. 2 weeks is way too long.

Earn your skills and head back by practicing. For the next couple days spend the amount of time you would normally play with practice. Practice everything: drives, upshots and putts but start with the shots you have been missing the most.

Try to find someone to practice with. This will make your practice more fun and more efficient.

After 2 days you will have honed your skills and the game will come easy once again.
This is exactly what I do, but I only practice by myself usually...I seem to concentrate and focus better.
a break will help. but if you don't want to take a break then just have fun with the game.
Do Not try and get a good score, just throw the frisbees. Don't take all your discs out, just take a few so you're not worried about which one will fly the best in the situation. Just take some friends out and play the game.
If you make a bad throw, laugh it off. I know it sounds weird but if I throw one that goes no where near where I wanted, I just laugh and make fun of it. It makes the game more enjoyable. Then once you're ready start bringing the competition aspect back into it.
I agree! Try not to take it so seriously, it is just a game after all. And work on new shots too. I'm always trying new shots or varying up my regular shots. It definitely makes the game more fun!
I have been in a bit of a funk lately as well. But this week I feel great and I'm playing well as a result of it. Don't get down. I had a few bogeys yesterday but I also birdied a hole for the first time. My mistakes were mental and I could have easily shot below par. I did beat 2 of the 4 people in my group as well.

Just do your best, don't dwell and have a beer. Beer makes everything better!
'Beer makes everything better' Homer Simpson couldn't have said it better, lol. Have they make an episode where Homer takes up disc golf?? I know they had it on Seifeld once!
