The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I wanted to see what type of courses people like playing the most. That's the one awesome thing about our sport is that every course is very unique and courses can exist in any climate. I want to see ball golfers play in the mountains or in the desert!

A mix is definitly best, you need lefty and righty holes to make a course. You need long and short holes, par 4-5 holes (with trees) are great. Lots of trees also make it fun, seeing your disc zoom through a narrow gap and ding a tone pole or slam the chains is great. Uphills and downhills are essential in my opnion. Big views of mountains, rivers, and forests make great additions to any course and improve their score in my book. Teepads and baskets are not anywhere neer the top of my list on things a course needs. And I hate open field golf, if theres no trees to hit I'm going to get borred real quick.
dexter mi hudson mills has something for everyone
Water water water, trees lots of trees. like old oaks with lots of hanging moss. Like playing beautiful Cliff Stevens park in Clearwater Florida. 13 of the 18 holes here have water hazards. Luckily the squids are quite nice and will return your plastic for like $2 a disc. No elevation here though. I think that is the only thing it is missing.
I like obstacles. Like everyone else that's posted a nice mix of open-ish, woods, and elevation thrill me the most. Courses with variety give me a chance to work all of my shots. Water hazards that are do-able (200ft or less across), crazy mandos, and occasional poke-and-hope holes are interesting as well. A great top-of-the-world hole will bring me back to a course over and over.
