petition: Save Young's Run DGC or its going to the dogs!

dear friends,

this is a cherished, well-used and well-maintained course. trumbull county is rural. and it's in ohio... space isn't a commodity. there is PLENTY of room for a disc golf course and several hundred dog parks to exist.

There is a Disc Golf course in Warren, OH that is in jeopardy of losing a couple of holes so that a dog park can be installed. I have owned a dog since i was born and I am all for the dogs but the problem is that so many people come from all over to play this course. It's only a 15 hole course and to take away 2 or 3 of our holes would be disastrous! This park has had a Disc Golf course on it for years and is very well established. The only reason for them to use our existing course for their park is that the land has already been cleared. There is so much more land in Trumbull county for this dog park that it is stupid to remove a group of peoples playground to put in another playground for other people. Why can't we all be happy huh!?!?! SO... I have started a petition and would like all of you to sign it. So far we have only 96 signatures and they have like 300. I'm the one who started this petition and so you know I'm all for the dogs but to take from one to give to another is wrong no matter how you look at it! PLEASE help us in saving this course, it will only take a minute of your time to go to the link and put in your two cents. From one Disc Golfer to the next, I'd do the same for you!

Mark makes an excellent point. Dog owners are amazingly well organized when it comes to trying to get dog parks put in. It's a challenge for disc golfers to match them when going head-to-head, so a strong and well-organized local presence is required to get it done.

Good luck, and fight the good fight. You have to play the political game in situations like this.
