BG Ams Road Trip

We're thinking of a road trip on the way ('round-a-bout) to Bowling Green Ams from Cincinnati, OH.
Here is the purposed agenda...
Monday PM:
Leave from Cinci drive to Charlotte - 8 hour drive; 497 miles

Tuesday AM:
Play Renaissance - ? hours

Tuesday PM:
Leave from Charlotte to Appling, GA - 3 hour drive; 181 miles

Wednesday:
Play IDGC courses

Wednesday PM:
Leave from Appling to Science Hill, KY (my parents) - 7 1/2 hours; 420 miles

Thursday:
Play Pulaski County Park upper and lower Somerset, KY

Friday AM:
Science Hill, KY to Bowling Green, KY - 2 hours; 115 miles

Play BG Ams Sat :-)
Over 1200 miles total
Sounds like a lot but I think we got a foursome for the quest.

Anyone else doing a big trip on their way to BG Ams?

To clarify, we'd leave late Monday and drive through the night to arrive at Renny in the morning?

Looks like we'd have extra time on Tuesday to do something else. We could:
A. Drive on to GA, play a round somewhere in Augusta (Lake Olmstead maybe).
B. Play another course in Charlotte, then drive on to Augusta.

Other than that, sounds good to me.

Charlotte has a relatively small quantity of courses, but the do not lack in quality.

You'll also be really close to Rock Hill, SC (less than an hour drive).

I'd look at the possibility of Hornets Nest in Charlotte, or playing the Rock Hill Course (but it won't have ropes, so no real USDGC experience).

Last winter we went to Charlotte. Hornets Nest was very cool. Rock Hill was a waste of time. Without the ropes, you might as well be throwing D in a wide open field except for a few nice holes.

Depending on how you go to Appling from Charlotte, there are some really fun/challenging courses not too far off I85-

Easley, SC- maybe 15/20 minutes north of 85 and the nicest facility in the upstate
Boiling Springs, SC- rough wooded course that more like hiking with discs but they put in tee pads finally and actually creatively designed
Toccoa, GA- haven't played it yet but the local pros (including Sarah Stanhope- PDGA R.O.Y.) like it enough to include it in SC doubles rotation

and from Toccoa heading south to Appling is a pay-to-play 27 hole course at Lake Russell in Elberton GA that is supposed to be exceptional.
