The lion den at the zoo..that'd be fun.
Homans temp course - El Cajon
I've only heard of that place once. Where, what, when?
Wherever there is a motivated individual who is in it for the long haul and won't get discouraged when the course isn't installed within 6 months.
Well I'm not from SD, but I was there this past weekend and kept thinking a disc golf course would be perfect in the hilly/forested areas of Carlsbad. I noticed most of the courses out there are fairly well groomed ball golf style courses, having a more treed through-the-woods course would be fun in that climate.
The Olympic Training Centre looks good and if we are ever to make disc golf and Olympic event why not there? Now wouldn't that be way cool?? Dream big and let's get it there. After all didn't disc golf evolve from one of the very first olympic sports, Discus? It needs to become a Olympic event sooner rather than later.
What about Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve ? or Torrey Pines State Park ?
Penasquitos would be perfect!
Torrey Pines would never happen - too much resistance from Sierra Club types. Preserves can be tricky - many of these folks see our sharp-edged discs as too damaging to the trees.

I'm wondering about the river park soon to be created up near the 76 and Fallbrook.

But I definitely agree with Rhett's comment above - it doesn't happen overnight.
Rick and I met with the county about that new regional park once. They weren't very interested. Maybe now that you have the San Marcos parks people on board and excited about disc golf there would be a better chance at something with a nearby city speaking up with positives.

The problem with the new regional park is that they are basically trying to keep everything that doesn't have to be smashed and bulldozed for the 76 expansion as a riparian preserve. They have plans for soccer fields (ugh) and baseball fields for areas where they have to smash everything to stage for new bridges and stuff, and the guy we talked to was only interested in what could be strung around the edges of that development.

I'll help out wherever I can, but I am completely uncomfortable and unknowing for taking the lead in anything like this. So it would have to fall on someone else to get things going.
I'd help.
I'm on it. :)
