Dec 1, 2008

Wixom, MI - The 2008 Discraft Ace Race prototype disc has now been approved for PDGA tournament play, which will be good news for the thousands of disc golfers who are already carrying it in their bags. A slightly overstable midrange that fits into the Discraft line-up between the Buzzz and Wasp, the disc may be released to the general public in the Spring of 2009, under the possible name of 'Nebula'. All existing copies of the disc are now legal for PDGA purposes.

Cool!

All the white ones appeared to be molded differently(flat on top) at our ace race.Did anyone else notice this?Everyone else noticed also at our ace race.Ive got 3 1red,1orange,and1white.Maybe thats why its turning over,is it white?

I think it's a good disc and has its niche, but for me it is also less stable than a buzzz. Most people at our ace race agreed and thought that it was pretty flippy. You are not the only one!

yeah, Nebula seems a little odd for a name but love the disc. Have had mine in the bag since they came out and used it in a lot of non-pdga events, witt permission of course, not to mention the other guys throwing theirs as well. ha

I agree Silverback. I love my Nebula.

Looks like I'm in a minority position here but I could not throw this disc with any consistant flight. Sometimes it would flip & sometimes it would hyzer hard & other times super straight? WTF. It did not end up in my bag because I could not think of any shot I would use it for.
IMHO= P.O.S.

I tend to agree, seemed pretty flippy. I traded away one of mine for an esp venom (which is awesome for forehand) and kept the other, but it is not in my bag.

I have a 175 bright pink one and it is very stable, more stable than my new z wasp! I really like this disc and it is in my bag for now. Im very surprised to hear that some of these discs are flippy because mine is very stable, i guess I'll have to buy another heavy pink one if I ever loose mine.

I love the ace 2008. I did traded my green one, i think 174 or 176, for an FLX Challenger (which I then traded the challenger back for a banger GT and an APX misprint, I won a tie died FLX challenger on ebay). I kep the white one I threw in the race and I love it. I hit to metals with it and I love it on approach shots around 200ft to 100ft.

It seems to me very neutral till the very end with a little hyzer finish. Can't stand the suggested name though. How about the Hornet or some other flying stinging insect since it is supposed to be between the Buzzz and Wasp?
