2012 DGPtv Storky Awards Voting Underway!

Disc golfers from around the world are encouraged to vote in the inaugural Storky Awards, hosted by DiscGolfPlanetTV.  http://svy.mk/ZATAnB These awards are designed to celebrate the disc golf culture, so, instead of rewarding the outstanding play of our top competitors ON the course, categories for The Storkys include facets of the sport that are most enjoyed OFF the course. 

Named after long-time disc sports promoter, historian, and mentor to many, Dan Roddick, this year's Storky award categories include: Disc Golf Band of the Year; Disc Golf Course Comedian; Disc Golf Video of the Year; Best Tattoo in Disc Golf; Disc Golf Crash Pad of the Year; and the Disc Golfer of the Year. 

"We tried to encompass a wide swatch of the disc golf culture by including music, crash pads, and tattoos, and we believe that all the awards celebrate our community's uniqueness and talents," explained DiscGolfPlanet principal, John Duesler.  "But the award that we value most at DGPtv is the Disc Golfer of the Year, which will go to the person who best embodies the historic spirit of generosity, open-mindedness, and service to our community.  All of this year's nominees all embody that spirit we value most.  We hope to someday make the DGPtv Disc Golfer of the Year THE most coveted award in our entire sport, sort of like the Academy Award of disc golf."
