I played this weekend in FLHW's (Faith Love Hope WIN) benefit for prostate cancer at Thornfield. WOW!! The first round took 4 hours partly because there were plenty of beginners an no one had played the course before, but in spite of this marathon round THIS COURSE IS AWESOME! ALL those who will be able to play this course at Worlds this year consider yourself privileged.

This course is a long technical course. A ton of fun to play. Here is the kicker. The course is PRIVATE and the owner doesn't even play! He only opens it up for charity events and has been convinced to open it for the worlds. I cannot say enough good things about this course. Blue Valley, Water Works and Rosedale all fall somewhere second of this course. It may not have concrete, benches and some of the ritzy benefits of some other courses but is a challenging and fun course. Long arm or not a great course.

Great news, that course is on my schedule for MPM. :)
The only thing that would make this course better is if it was open anytime. I would easily drive or pay to play this course but he doesn't allow it.
What is it about the Blue Valley course that it has only tee times? Is it a long course as well? I wonder if it is like the "long" course at the IDGC. At the grand opening, each round took about 5 hours to play, and that was with no excessive backups. It just took that long to play the course, what with the length and difficulty.
