A Little Help With Points

Hey guys,

 

I am hosting a point series this summer and I was wondering if anyone had any guidelines on how to administer points, or any fun ways for players to earn extra points. As of right now I am planning on going with something like this:

 

Points will given as follows: 10pts for 1st, 9pts for 2nd, 8pts for 3rd, 7pts for 4th, 6pts for 5th, 5pts for 6th, 4pts for 7th, 3pts for 8th, 2pts for 9th, and 1pt for 10th, and 5 points for every ace. 

 

I am open to any suggestions.

When we did our point series, everyone got a point.  If you had 14 people in a division, then first would get 14 and last would get 1.  We designated which tourneys were going to be part of the point series and updated the standings after every tourney.  We never did anyting for Aces or eagles or anthing like that, just placement.  Our point series was for the USDGC at the time, but we're going back to the highest finisher in the state championships.
