The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

So I was practicing my drives at a local community park where I have a good 500ft fairway that I use for driving practice. It was real windy and when I went to throw the disc back the other way.. the wind gust caught it and carried it up the arch shaped storm shelter near the playground. I managed to throw my Champion Beast and brand spanking new 2008 Worlds DGA Rogue that I won on this site last month. Yeah.. not a happy camper. I brewed over some possible ways of getting these discs down.

-I could find someone with a 20 ft ladder but.. I don't know anyone with a ladder that big.
-Get a truck that's tall enough to stand on
-Let the wind blow it down ( then I might be out of 2 discs )

-Call the town parks and recreation to see if there is a way to get them down. I doubt nothing will happen

There is not much to grab onto to pull myself up over the ledge or I would definitely do that.

Just wanted to give you guys/gals an update:

My neighbor and I took his truck and attempted the fishing rod/ hanger trick to only to end up breaking the hanger and tangling up the fishing line too often. He didn't want to dent up his truck roof but managed to stand on the edge and allow me to climb up his back and on to the roof top. Since then... yeahhhh.... I'm a lot more careful about my drives and will most likely take it easy throwing so close to the picnic shelter and in windy situations. Thank you all for all of your help. I never got pictures like some people wanted me too. I didn't have that many "stable" disc to attempt the climb and possible lawsuit against Innova for false advertising.. LOL.

Take it easy.
have you got em down yet?
Glad you got them down, My friend and I were playing a few eeks ago and he got one of his old reliables caught up in tree. i climbed within about 15 ft. of it, but the branches were getting way too thin for me to climb much higher. Nothing worse than having a disc just out of reach and not being able to get it. It's almost like they laugh at you. We never could get the disc down, haven't had the chance to get back and see if it's still stuck up there.
That looked pretty hectic !!!
