Hey, why not do this for all states, one at a time?

So, folks in Texas . . . What's new!?!?!

We actually have four or five in either planning or developement stages in DFW alone. Our state coordinator is taking the lead on a few of them, Gary Duke, and I believe he is a member on here as well.
And it's his birthday today, Happy Birthday Gary.
Well our local club, San Antonio Disc Club, put together a 9 hole temp. course in the city of Helotes (right outside SA on the west) so the city council members could play a mini tournament (they weren't really interested in having a course build there).... long story short, they LOVED it! The 9 hole is going in... soon

They are talking about having a champion caliber course built if the small 9 hole does well.. that's cool huh.
The Brady disc golf course is less than a year old. I designed a 12 hole course in Brownwood but the parks dept. is making the baskets in their spare time, slowly. Christoval is in the talking stage but I have heard they have some county money to use.
In Houston their are about 3 more Developing... Good to know also this way i don't have to travel way across town to play hahaha... Mostly church courses but, their are some big plans in effect i do believe
The Austin area is getting some more as well. Four with 18 holes that I can think of off the top of my head. Met center, a church that I forget the name of is getting 18 that Houck is designing, met center is his too. And Stoney Creek in Phlugerville will get two 18 holers which should be open in 6 months or so.
There is, evidently, a new course going in in Grand Prairie, based on a tournament scheduled there in October.
Turner Park off belt line and 30. right behind my home :) haven't heard the time frame yet though.

that makes 5 courses in the DFW area I can think of that are in the works, added to the ..how many do we have around here now? I lose track :)
I would love to try and get one put in the ground in Mansfield, since the city is growing so fast, but I have no clue how to do it, or where to start!
Clear some land for walking thats what i would do... get some local people out there with you make it a Club thang
Then use some trees for targets. After the object course gets some play, install wooden posts where the basket could go.
