Anyone ever have their appendix taken out during the season?

If you did how long were you out?

I just had one last monday and am still nowhere close to being able to throw a disc (may have hurt myself trying), I have a tourney to run this coming weekend and was hoping to play in it too, just wondering if that is a possibility.

It was laparoscopic.

I didn't have mine during tourney season and mine burst so I was in the hospital for over a month.  It was probaly another few months before I could start doing anything again.  It took even more time before I was back to normal.

I had my gullbladder taken out last May and they had to open up my belly to get to it.  I was back playing within a month (still messing with bandages) and it took about two months or so before I was back to normal.

NO! it's not a possibility...playing that is.

I know I can putt and I have thrown a couple overhand/forehand rollers with no pain, (2 back hand attempts were very painful at about 35% power-1/4 speed) is it worth trying? I have such an Itch to play, before I had to go under the knife suddenly I was already on a week and a half hiatus from golf to let my rotator cuff heal. It's been 3 weeks and I feel like I need to play to stay sane, I Haven't missed 3 weeks of leagues total in the last 3 years, let alone all in one month.

It's like the rapture came, took no one and left me in my own living hell.

OK, a week and a half for your rotator? Dang it took almost 8 months for me (surgery), but thank goodness it was my non throwing arm. Like Mr. Ed said, I'm sure your Doc or discharge nurse gave you instruction? Most people forget due to being so doped up, but you should have some discharge instructions? Also, how was it taken out? Knife? or Lapryscopic? Either way, they went through muscle and when that happens it will make it very weak and then you risk stuff "popping" out (herniation), but under the knife is even more of a NO, NO!

So please be carefull....

It was a small tear (self diagnosed) and I just stopped to see if it would heal up. It didn't, but its not disc golf related and doesn't seem to get worse from throwing, I just won't be trying any overhand shots.
Sounds like a question you might of asked the doctor;>}

Don't do something early that may take the rest of your summer away from you.

Only you and your doctor can answer that question. Your body will let you know, make sure you listen to it.

I had my appendix removed in Feb and was off work for 3 weeks. Even then I took it easy.

I played my first round of 18 today, had a little pain but not to bad. So the answer would seem to be at least 14 days.
