are we cheaters

i was in a tournament and people didnt like me because i shoot 5 stokes better then the closes group and i was called a cheater. am i a cheater just because i played my thumbers and tommy's?

No. They're just jealous cuz they don't have those shots in the bag. This is about the same as being called a sandbagger when you happen to have a good tourney. Don't listen to them.

I watched dvd of the 2008 Ams. OMG the winners were 5 and 10 strokes ahead of the pack. It just amazed me that at that level there would be that much difference.

I thought the objective was to get from the tee to the basket in as few throws as possible. I don't remember the rule that says you can't throw tommy or thumber. Unless they can find that rule somewhere in the fine print I say you're alright.
I wod have to agree maybe they are upset that you beat them. I play with a guy who throws 90% of his shots overhand and he always puts up a good fight, it's definitely not cheating. Do what you do, have fun, just shrug it off

Throwing Styles: What's Legal?

Question: Are there any restrictions on how you throw the disc? For example, can you throw nothing but overhand shots?

Response: No, there are no restrictions on how you throw the disc. You may throw backhand, sidearm, overhand, thumber, or any other way that occurs to you. You can throw it with your foot if that works for you.

The definition of "Throw" in the glossary of the rules describes a throw as a "propulsion" of a disc that changes its position. There are many ways to propel a disc. As long as you use only your body and no artificial devices (see 802.04), you may throw the disc in any manner you like.


technically if you place the disc twixed your butt cheeks...and propel it with flatulence.....well....You might get a standing ovation....and a few "we're not worthy's"
