Aviar break in period?

Been playin a 175g Star Aviar P@A for over a year now.  Just picked up another one for practice but the difference is night and day.  The old one is soft and grippy, and the new one stiff and so slick it's almost impossible to get a good release...

 

Now I know that discs break in over time but I guessed i never really noticed the gradual change.. if that's the case.

 

Anyone else have a similar experience?  I'm a little worried.  Or should I just start throwing drives with the new disc to break it in quicker?

just throw some drives. star plastic in the aviars usually gets overly beat in.

 

i will say that the slickness isn't about to change. actually, as star plastic hits chains more and more, it becomes slicker. that's why i switched to a glo aviar.

 

accept the putter with  whatever state it's in though. right now it might be a bit stable. as time wears on, that will become a great turnover, upshot approach disc. that's what i used to use it for, til my friend threw it in the lake!

 

there's a possibility that the star aviar you picked up recently is a different run than the first one. runs can vary from stiffness to grippiness so it could feel and bend completely different.

Get an R-Pro Aviar.  You'll be happy.  Or make a big change and get an Omega SS.  Just my 2 cents.

Aviars can differ greatly .I use a soft one to putt with (Omega) and a stiffer Aviar to approach with. I have a beat Aviar for turn over.I don't like slick discs of any kind.

I have found putting with soft discs don't roll away from rim hits as much as harder discs.

Grab a DX putt and aproach. Breaks in quik. Best grip. Not stiff.

I use a Star Aviar Driver for short putts and an R-Pro Rhyno for long putts now that I stopped the bad habit of just putting with a Roc lol.  (it worked good, so I did it).  I like the Aviar Driver because I tend to overshoot sometimes and it seems to glide a bit less.

You should probably just buy your putters two at a time, and keep them broken in together. Then take your really old beat up putter and make it your anhyzer disc. 

I use two Star Aviars as my putters and they grip pretty well on both the chains and my hand.

 

Also, one thing I've noticed about DX Aviars is that innova seems to attempt to appeal to the whole spectrum of players by simply running different DX runs at different stickiness, etc. You have pick up the disc and feel it in your hand before buying it.

you will learn that innova discs seem to have no consistency with molds and plastics. Buy two avairs star plastic same weight and its likely that they will fly, and feel differently.
