The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I played a tournament this last weekend, and someone had a baby on the course with them the whole time.

Number 1. I find this very dangerous. ( I myself hooked up on a huge hyzer shot and almost hit the kid on a blind corner.

Number 2. Everyone on the course was complaining about it and I dont think one person said anything to a TD or anything.

Number 3. Only once did I really have an issue with this. I was in mid cross step in my drive and I heard a loud cry from near by and shanked.

I dont think the disc golf course during a tourament is the place for a kid around a year old.

Ive said my part, next time I will be calling the TD.

Dohhhhhhhh !!!!
Although I would agree that a tournament is no place for a screaming baby, I have had my wife and 8 month old come to bowling green last year, no one had a problem as my wife made sure my son had plenty of food and that his was changed. The one time he did start to cry a bottle was put in mouth and she took him off the course.

As for danger, I find it FAR more dangerous to bring a child with you during a casual round then a tournament or league round. I say this because generally during organized play people have better control over their discs and even if they don't have that control at least they allow you to clear the hole before they toss a disc.

However, in the case of a person carrying a baby and the kid constantly screaming I would have to warn for courtesy and perhaps even stroke them if needed.`If you are going to ever have a child with you during a tournament there should always be a contingency plan should the kid get crabby.
Heck, I've heard players cry more than any kids I've seen on the course! It was Mainly the pros though lol!
I too have a dog that has better behavior than most golfers ,i've been wanting to use her as a caddy but it's not allowed in tourney play
