I was wondering what kind of Bag Tag format have you played?

I'm assuming there is more than one way to organize it.

The one I'm in now seems kind of high maintenance, at least for the one organizing it. There are monthly tournaments, 1st place gets 50 pts, 2nd gets 49 pts, and so on, Between each monthly tournament, we challenge each other for the lower tag number. If you win a challenge, you call it in to the organizer, and you get 10 points. At the end of the tournaments, the top ten, in POINT standings, play a final 9 hole. Cash payouts for the top 5, other prizes for 6-10. Like I said, a lot of work for the organizer! He has to record all challenges and bag tag standings, then organize all the points after tournaments.

bag tags can be really lame...last year (2009) the president of our local club won bag tag #1 in a big club challenge in late october and promptly announced that he would not be bag tagging the rest of the year (so he could finish the year w/ the #1 tag)...and he did...basically people place too much importance on a number on a piece of plastic that doesn't mean dick...of all the things I've encountered in this sport I can think of nothing that makes grown men behave like children more than bag tags...

This is what we use, we adapted it to our style here. Our president copied from from somewhere...I think Donny's disc golf website.
I hear that, we have a few in our league that act the same way. Those tags are going to change SOOOOOOO much over the course of a year why does it really matter...yet we still have people that cry about it in some way.
or we could play for golf bags, money, grams, beer, girlfriends, mortgages,,,,hows that tag sound now,not so important,,,,
mortgages, i'm bringing my "a" game!!
