the article is interesting ....... we're currently in talks with a public 9 hole ball golf course to overlay an 18 hole dg course .... the course closes in the winter and it may be possible to augment their income with inexpensive yearly passes for dg. if it works over the winter then perhaps mix the ball golfers and dg golfers together come spring.
one thing about swinging over a ball course completely to a dg course is that your maitenance goes down 70 to 80% i would bet, minimal water, no fertilizer, mowing once a month rather than daily...... basically just leaving the course fallow until the economy picks up and everybody wants to play ball golf again ....... had a course go down in your community? .... maybe approach them and see what their interest is. ......... perhaps the pdga could get a handle on what courses have ceased operating and put a depression tour on for next spring to showcase dg on a ball golf setup. ...... we are hoping our program works out on our nine holer so we can get it going elsewhere..... nothing like courses where rollers could be king

I think mowing once a month would be nuts. A months worth of growth can be shule in some parts of the country, But I do get the point. I shot my best rated round ever on a ball golf course and had a lot of fun. I am all for it.
