The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I would like to start by Thanking Terry Calhoun for all of his efforts in getting this course In the ground. I have kind of taken this course as a project since its conception. I have done some smaller improvements to the course. but what I'm writing about is the newest addition to the course. The city has come threw with wood chips. Lots of wood chips they have spread them all over the place. every fairway has wood chips down there are walk ways on 7 to all the tees. my favorite part is that now we can all golf a lot safer and not worry about twisting our ankle or breaking our legs. I will end this by thanking the city for spreading all of the chips and allowing us to have a great course in this location.

Thank You
Garrett Graham

So say we all! This is a showpiece course for how to:
- make a challenging, interesting, appealing course in a small space
- make new and vital use of 'park land' that was going unused and was essentially an overgrown dump for old road construction material.
For a relatively small investment, the City Government gets a lot of return in the form of new park users and a sense that the money we spend in taxes for parks is worth it. This is a damn busy little park!
Good to acknowledge all this, Garrett.
This is a great course. It keeps getting better and better all the time. I would like to get a clean up day going would any one be willing to help?
I'd be in for it garrett, I wonder if we could get a wheelbarrel for the day to help spred the chip on the path between 6 / 7.. other then that a new makeshift bench and 50 drums for garbage would be rad.

I don't think we can put chips down on that path due to the bikers. I have a trailer and truck we can use to haul stuff with. There is a lot of brush that needs to be removed and I'm tired of doing it by myself. There are several areas that need it and with a large group of guys and gals we can get this park in great shape. I'm working on barrels for garbage even tho the city doesn't want them out there we need them. I'm also trying to get a picnic table for out there as well.
You think they'll let us use the firpit to burn extra wood?.. or were you thinking of lineing the fairways?..

the fire pit is for public use and is one of the only places that i know of where you don't need a burn permit to use it. I wanted to pile up the brush over there and let people burn it up at there leisure. I don't like the brush on the course that's what I want to clean up
