Some people throw rollers between holes during casual golf to break in new discs.

I have discs that have been run over by cars. They usually become less stable. I found a disc in a road a while back. It must have been run over a hundred times. The bottom "bead" was nothing but flared plastic. It flipped so much, I could throw it "upside down", and it would flip right side up, but it only flew about 200 feet.

Depending on how I'm feeling about a disc and what I think I want with it right away or not....I'll either just throw it till it breaks in, use it as a thumber for any shots that will favor it, or throw against a Birch Tree or Cottonwood. I almost always buy Champion, Star, ESP, or Z plastic tho...very few DX.
you can shave off the flashing to make it less stable. being very careful use a razor sharp instrument and remove the small strip of plastic on the bottom of the disc
