Can a book help with technique?

I was looking at this book and wondered if anyone thinks a book will help with technique adn in particular driving distance?

I believe a book can help, I know that some people learn better with certain types of training (book, video, hands on, etc.). I'm of the mind of multi-sensory input regardless of type. I'm sure you'll learn something from it or a lot of many things. Either way it won't hurt and the potential to get better is better than if you didn't.
