CHAT ON DGRUS

I'm just making sure everyone here is aware.. that there is a chat module on this website, and you should feel free to express any opinions and ask all your questions here on the chat! The chat is in the lower right hand corner of the window, very easy to use. I have spent probably half my life on it since I joined DGRUS. If I could get points for it, I would be at 789,283,752,397,523.

The chat feature is annoying! I don't chat - never have, not interested. Unhappily, I have to disable it EVERY time I log on. At least on Facebook you can shut it off permanently.

Just clicking "go offline" will do the trick, it wont make any noise if you do that :)

I enjoy the give and take of the forums, I can choose topics that interest me and respond when appropriate. I am simply not interested in the chat mode. I've been using the internet since the days of 2400 baud dial-up and I have never cared for chat, IM, etc. It's not that I'm grumpy, it's a matter of preference - I don't have texting on my cell phone - again, a matter of preference. :-)
