Cost of Making an 18-Hole Course

For anyone who has been involved in the creation of a course, could you give

me an idea of the final cost?

 

Also, any ideas about fundraising, ways to get money from players who will

be using it?

Not pay-to-play, but money up front as earnest money kind of thing.

 

This would be a city course, in an accessible, grassy park field.

Our city is like one big bottleneck, it moves so slowly, it's notorious for this.

We have one 9-hole warm-up of a course.

Anyways, so I need to be clever and take the initiative. (The next course planned here, which would make it 3 - there's one now and one in the works finally - but this third one is part of the city's "30 year plan"....thirty... year...plan).


So if I can raise as much money as possible, then, as the mayor implied in a response given to me regarding an email I sent to her about the difficulty of wanting to stay in this town as a disc golfer (Jenkins and Feldberg both left here recently because it's so crummy for dg'ing), then she thinks that it would move faster.

I need to do a lot of work to get anything going.

Would you guys donate $10 or more? I mean not to my course, but if this were your town, would you? I'll bet most people would if they thought they'd get a new course. I'm going to stand at our courses to get signatures of intent, I'm thinking. To have people sign saying that if a course were possible, then they'd donate at least $10.
Working with the gov't doesn't work very well. It's too slow, and we have so much land here - old condemned parks, unused existing parks, but a lot of "cant's".
But the mayor told me that "partnerships" is another matter. I don't think the city wants to do all the work, apparently.
The city's athletics manager told me on the phone that he has been trying to get another course here since the 1980's.

And what was it? St. Louis or some big city n that part of the country just put in 9 new courses???

So, anyways, ok, donations and such, I'll look into that. I'm so afraid of hassling people who aren't directly involved, but they'd get free advertising? Is that really an incentive for them???
