I am pleased to announce that the course is officially open for play with
the hours of dawn to dusk. We will be announcing a Grand Opening/Ribbon
Cutting in the near future.
There are a few minor details that need to be completed, but the course can
be played. I will warn you that we have had a lot of rain the last few days
& the course is very wet (so don't wear your good shoes). I heard it is
going to rain through Sunday so you may want to hold off a few days to
check it out. We do have a grass parking lot that abuts the course but I
would use the paved parking area at this time.
To get to Youth Park, take 70th Ave. to 40th St. & go south & it will
dead-end into the parking lot. The course is located just south of the
soccer & baseball fields. For your information, there is no entrance off of
If you know or get to meet CR Willey, please tell him what a great job he
did designing this course. For your information, all of his time was
volunteered without a cost to the City.
If you have any questions I can be reached inter-office at ext. 2200 or by
regular phone at 727-541-0779.
Pinellas Park Youth Camp, in Pinellas Parks take 70th Ave to 40th St. head south and it will dead end into the parking lot.
I haven't played it but according to C.R. it's a fun short course. I hope to get out there sometime this week. Keep throwing!
The course is extremely tight. Baskets are near Teepads, watch your head!
Slightly flooded right now, you might want to wait to play.
Here you see the city adding more water to the flooded area.
The trees were standing straight until all of the soil was washed out and now they are leaning.
When I mentioned that the trees might have enough water and that he was knocking them over, he told me I had to "complain to somebody else".
He was also trashing the nice green grass, turning it into muddy tire tracks by driving all through it. Thanks.
At least this time they did not drive over the brand new tee pads.....they broke five of them in the first week.
They have since been re-poured.
The course is short with very little variety, laid out in corn rows. Designed more for the youths at Youth Park.
oh yea wet may be an understatement to play this course in aug.
BUt never the less if you want a fast round of 18 with some short and long shots this is perfect i Im sure that with the increase popularity of this course the city will be forced to have to keep it maintained regularly but for an early stage (its been open for like maybe not evan a month-) i personally enjoyed this course 10 10 10
ill try to upload better non swamp like photos of the course in the near futer!
