Crazy putts

I threw a really long putt a few days ago and I just want to know if there is any stories out there about really long putts

I played at Ottawa Park in Toledo recently and I parred two birdie holes right in a row because I missed the 45' birdie putts. Upset about it I decided to throw an ace run at the next basket. That wasn't too smart because I flew about a foot over the basket and landed 60' past. I stepped up to my second shot and without even marking my disc I nailed the putt. That allowed me to birdie the next 5 holes in a row and I cashed $75 that day. The crazy thing about long putts is that I make them in practice repeatedly but when it comes to the money I can't put enough in.

When it was still possible to play disc golf in Madison (meaning baskets and no snow) it was getting very dark one evening at Vallarta-Ast aka Token Creek and my foursome was trying to get in the last few holes of our round. I was playing well, which for me means making my par putts with the occasional birdie and I only had one bogey or something. Anyway, we come up on this group of 10 night golfers and they say we can join up and pass on the next tee. Well, I threw a deep drive right of the fairway and my approach was horrible, leaving me about a 75' jump-putt. At this point, the basket was hardly visible. I went with my Glow Aviar, which ironically has no luminescence ha. When I released the putt my vision was blurry from the cold and this entire group was watching... nothin but chainzzz to keep my round going. Hardly saw it go in :) Definitely the coolest thing I've done in front of crowd for disc golf. Also the only thing close to a crowd I've experienced in disc golf ha ha

The last tourney I played in was Tocabogga games at Maximo Park in St Pete's Florida. During one round a guy on my card, who was a local was talking about how some folks put "guides" up on the course and how some where there naturally. The guides he was referring to ranged from small ropes to clumps of Spanish moss that hung naturally from trees. He said a local trick was to hit these guides if possible and if nothing else to aim at them and they would direct your shot into the basket. I took in what he was saying and watched throughout a few holes to see him doing this and he of course did it and did it pretty well. I can't recall the hole it was on but he kinda pooched his drive and was left roughly 80 feet or so from the basket. He grabs his "Z-putt'r" and punches this weird loft putt kinda thing into this piece of Spanish moss that is dangling about 3 feet down from a tree branch about 35 feet from the basket and what do you know... That bugger goes straight in for the best putt I saw during the whole weekend. Damned guides! :) We were all super stoked for him

I've always thought there were such things but never tried that. Now you know I have been trying to get a tree-kick-ace on hole 2 at Robert Morris, because as I see it thats the only way it's gonna happen.

I was playing a round a few weeks ago at Fly By Faith course in lafayette In. Horrible conditions 35 degrees 30 mph winds, gusts to 40-45mph, only birdie I had all day was a 65 footer straight as an arrow,nothing but chains...

So my dad has been coming out and playing some rounds with me lately. Keep in mind that I think he could count the number of games he's played on both hands. We were playing the course at the old Trojan Nuclear power plant in OR (a course who's water hazards ate five discs in nine holes by the way). He pulled down an eighty foot putt with a ten foot ceiling and maybe fifteen feet of play laterally.

Do the discs become Glow discs after going in that water?

lol, I live about three hundred miles away, so I guess I'll never know. To be fair, two of the discs were thrown in by newbies, but it felt like there was water on almost every hole. Pretty course though, lots of wildlife
