The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

The folks who are building the DGRUS Flymart were not, initially, going to have item categorization built in. After seeing the feedback we got in the past two weeks (Thanks!) they've decided that we will launch with some categorization. At first it will be just one level, with no subdirectories or subcategories.

I'm asking you folks to comment on and provide suggestions about what initial categorization might work best. Here is my first stab for your edification and dissection. (Actually, this is the third, edited list, already taking some suggestions into account.)

Putt & Aproach Discs
Mid-Range Discs
Driver Discs
150-gram Class Discs
Groups of Discs
Custom Dyed Discs
Used Discs

Collectibles
Fundraiser Discs
Media (books/mags/DVDs)
Clothing
Handicrafts, Art, Accessories

Bags
Targets

Minis & Mini-Disc Equipment

Other Disc Golf
Other (Pretty Much Anything, Within Reason)

It looks like everything is covered here. I am excited to see how this works and commend you terry for being open minded. This will definately expand the site!!
The only thing I can think of that isn't covered is Books/Mags. They could fall under collectibles or misc of course, but could warrant it's one category.
It would be cool to see a 150 class section- I seem to have a difficult time finding discs for my better half...
There isn't exactly a plethora of books available out there. That's why I started writing one about disc golf in Wisconsin a couple years ago. Can't find a publisher yet, but it's fun doing the research.

I should maybe note, for those who may have missed the discussion before the holidays, that we are going to launch this Flymart for any network member to sell things in. We expect members - including those who already have their own stores - to sell things, but this will not be a DGRUS store selling DGRUS stuff.
maybe brand names...Innova, Discraft, Lightning, etc... or would that be a "subdirectory"? i'm not sure all the terminology. when i search for a disc i go for a specific disc. not just a putt & approach. are they looking at a way to search by a specific named disc?
Who is going to stuff all the dead animals?
looks good.
Looks Good but are you going to have a search feature?
Used cars?

Dyes
Terry that's spot on, don't have any thing else to add. Please let us know when your ready to add users to this, we've been looking into adding a web site and would much rather support this one.
Kevin, here is a description of "search" from the DGRUS Flymart development team: "There is a category level filter (so people can look at all the items in a selected category) or people can do a keyword search against the title and description. Beyond that there are search modifiers that people can use, such as user:username for when the user is looking for something a specific user is selling."
