This thread is for all the disc golfers who turn over Xcalibers(DGWTOX). I'm pretty sure in my case its technique related and not just raw power. I just recently broke through the 400' barrier, but this happens everytime I try to kill one. Does anyone else suffer from this unique problem?

i dont suffer from it, but i bet it is in your technique too. i guess just try to slow your throw down, make it smooth, release the disc flat, and follow all the way through. i DO know that when i try to force a huge drive, it dosent ussually end up being a good throw, probably because my form sucked.

I only have this problem in the wind, but then again I am sometimes turning over Star Whippet-X in the wind where I play.

It probably is form, but I have noticed that if you release X-cal with too much anny it will just bite and not come back due to the high glide eventhough it is overstable.

I love the x-cal I just wish discraft had something comparable, I am test throwing flicks to see if they work for a good analog. So far so good! Replacing my 1st run x-cal with a Z flick and my star - Trex with a Z force now I just need something to replace my wraith and whippet- X and my bag will be all discraft.

I think I've figured it out. Everytime I try to kill a drive by throwing harder(bad idea) I notice my hand whipping across in a downward motion, finishing lower than usual. I'm pretty sure that until I correct this any disc I try to throw all out will turn over on me. I've been getting around 400' with my champ boss and had a wind assisted downhill 500' with an esp surge this weekend that just glided forever after it fought through the anny I threw it with. All the pros I've talked to have stressed that propper technique is how you generate enough spin to get big drives, so its not just a power thing.
I have thrown the discraft venom, its super stable, just not as fast as an Xcal, I'm a big fan of discraft and hope they have something real good for BG ams players packs this year.

No Problem !!!! Clean release with Hyzer solves the problem.

Why throw it Anhyzer? What about flat with left to right torque? Then the disc has more of a natural flight path. I never throw Anhyzer into a headwind. I make the disc move from left to right without the disc Anhyzering. The Xcaliber may turn alittle after it gets going but I never throw it Anhyzer.

I hear you Jamie. The problem is, as some of the pros in my area have told me, when I think I'm throwing with a little hyzer, I'm actually throwing flat and when I try to throw hard flat, I'm actually going anhyzer. I don't claim to be any sort of expert, heck I haven't even learned the hyzer flip throw yet. I just threw this out there so anybody else who has this problem can maybe learn from people how to throw properly(and maybe me a little too along the way). My bag is full of overstable discs because of this and I work anny lines a bit too much to get the placement I want. I have been throwing flat alot better when I concentrate on throwing slowly and smooth, the downside is when I do that I can't go any further than 300' or so when I slow it down. On the holes I need to crunch one, I fall back into my old habits.

I didn't say to give it anny, I said that if you toss it with anny it has a tendency to bite and not come back. I agree with giving it a good rip on the straight and level or with a little hyzer.
