Difference between Sidearm and Forehand

In the past I was told that there was a difference between throwing sidearm and throwing forehand.  It was described to me and made sense at the time however it has been many years now since I had that discussion and was wondering if anybody could describe the difference, for a nice reminder. I heard a freestyler explain the difference between the two throws is the position of the feet and body at release.  If you throw with your right hand across your body with your left leg towards the target then you’re throwing forehand. If you are facing the target straight on when you release then you are throwing sidearm.

My understanding is, For forehand, it is more like a flick, elbow tight to the body little to none elbow movement, no walk up or step through, but a little toe drag(imo 90% of people flick). Sidearm is more like a traditional backhand   that there is a walk up attempt to twist the hips reach back and follow/step through. To really see the difference look at the way people that throw mostly sidearm and their form from beginning to the end, then compare that to people that have "a sidearm shot" I always notice how much shorter everything is walk up, reach back, follow through etc, so basically forehand is a shorter less technical version of sidearm.
