There are many good discs out there (Buzzz, Nuke, Teebird, Roc, etc.)

I am wondering what disc that you think everyone should try out, and should have in their bag.

I say ESP Zone.
It is a perfect stable short-range disc, but its ability to really skip puts it above most discs around.

Edit: What is a disc that no other disc from any company can replace (Innova Katana, and Discraft Nuke are similar, Discraft Buzzz and Latitude 64 Core are very similar)

Try a max weight Innova Champ Viper and keep a mental note on your arm speed and release area and this super heavy over stable driver will be the most predictable short range driver in your bag. Matt Orum's dad would say to learn how to man handle a disc before you move on to the next disc. Also, it is very important that you own at least 3 or more of that same weight and plastic.
I recently bought a Ching Velocity. It took me less than 30 throws to achieve my first roller birdy. I also recommend the Surge by Discraft. Great for backhand, side-arm, and tomahawk.
DX WHIPPET! innexpensive and breaks in smooth. Has helped many people learn to throw sidearm controlled. Especially nice for sidearm shots 100-275ft.
I'll second you on the Whippets....but only the originals from the 90s. I don't like the new mold at all.

So far no other company has created a disc like the Champion Monarch. The disc $$$ for nice straight shots or long annies.
I love my CFR Star Monarch! Also, I have completely forgot that the disc has the grooved edge. Same with my Groove. Funny how when they first came out I would always stare at the grooved edge when I grabbed the disc. Now I just grab and throw.....
