The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Hello all,
My university recently gave our disc golf club approval to install a permanent disc golf course on the land of the ball golf course. We held a tournament there last spring with a 12 hole temp course and it went really well. We ordered 20 baskets and we plan on making the course much bigger and better. I was wondering if there is any precedent out there with the marriage of disc and ball golf courses so that we might do some research to plan the best course of action for our project. We must avoid interfering with the ball golf as much as possible. Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks!!!

I know of two courses where ball golf and disc golf co-exist. Both of these ball courses are "executive" style courses near San Diego - where players where players are accustom to pay-to-play facilities. .

Emerald Isle Ball Golf and Disc Golf course in Oceanside, California. http://www.emeraldislegolf.net/

Sun Valley ball golf/disc golf in La Mesa, CA http://www.sunvalleygolfclub.com/

I am sure the owners or managers of both could provide valuable insight - give them a call.
I know you'll have stay away from Ball Greens and Tee Pads. Great that you guys got the course but it sucks a bit that you have to share. I think there will problems for the disc golfers.
I think there is another 'marriage' of both disciplines in Tampa, FL...or somewhere close. I am sure that Disc-o-Golf will post that link as well...

Found the link...here ya go...$6 to play and walk...more if you want to get a Golf Cart...I couldn't find a map showing both courses intermingled...

Also, isn't there a group in Cali that promotes this type of dual-purpose golf development?
Look online at some of the courses that Fly18 has done.
Talk to Ben Calhoun, the guy who helps run this site. He has put in a disc course on a ball golf course. He will be able to give insight.
