The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

One I get to Savannah my disc golf is planned.

I am planning on a trip that will include the best of what I am passing.

I will be passing though or around

Ceder Rapids, IA

Davenport IA

Peoria, IL

Bloomington, IL

Champaign Urbana IL

Danville Il

I can do Cinnci OH or

Louisville KY

Lexington KY

Knoxville, TN

Ashville, NC

and then of Rock Hill, SC (I know where I am going there)

If there is a place to stop or even a little out of the way I will stop. I am just looking for great disc golf courses. So any help would be appreciated

I will be leaving after July 4th. I will post my different road trip back.

Mt. Airy Forest is a very nice course in Cincinnati, OH. It's my home course so I might have a little bias but it is one of the top three in the tri-state. Burlington, KY is home to the #1 course in the tri-state in Idlewild. I would hit both of these courses if you have the time.

Try gettin a copy of the New PDGA course directory and get in contact with the local pros and players of that specific area.

Or maybe even download the file : http://www.pdga.com/course_directory

Hope this helps some !!!

Brookside Park in Indy.
or you could make a little side trip to Frankfort and play Camp Collum

Just was visiting in the Quad Citys. Camden Park in Milan has two courses. I played the "Other Side" course which is a wooded course. Very intersting! Prospect Park is good as is Longview Park (great views of the city). Hope you have a good trip!

Not for nothing but if your still on the road on Labor Day (Aug31-Sep2), you could swing down to Orlando and play in the Southeastern Amateur Championship - a 3-day, A-tier. Check it out at www.SoutheasternAmateurChampionship.com

THE resource for traveling and finding courses is dgcoursereview.com.

At the tail end of your journey, you're going from Asheville to Rock Hill to Savannah?  If so, Rock Hill's a bit of a detour.  Is it for non-disc golf reasons, or to play Winthrop?

If that detour is not set in stone, you might consider visiting us at Stoney Hill in Newberry, SC:

Its in NW Indiana but Lemon Lake is a day and a half to get all the courses in and the course in Valparaiso IN is unbelievable...see pics here:

This really doesn't have anything to do with your road trip but I have a question about the 2013 World's Tournament in Indiana. I'm new to the game never been to a tournament, but would like to check it out. Any pointers? What players will be there? Can't make it all week, which day should I try to go? (its a good 3 hour drive away) What's Flymart? Thanks for any feed back on this!

Oughtta be a separate thread, but...Virtually all top players will be there.  "Worlds" is part World Championship, part Convention.  Best day to go is generally the finals, where you'll join the biggest galleries, where the best players will be concentrated on a few cards, and where there'll be the most drama.  Flymart is a day and location when a bunch of vendors set up, selling everything disc golf.

If you can find the time to make a stop at the Sauls Brothers Disc Golf Meca it will definitely be worth your time. I would highly recommend it.
