The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

We have seen a few discussions asking for the best straight driver or the best anhyzer disc or the best roller disc, etc.

Of course the answer is : it depends on who is throwing it. An understable disc in my hands might be overstable in yours. A disc which was overstable for you last year might be a straight flier as your power improves. A disc which is worthless to me might be perfect to you.

Now that candy plastic is common in the market a disc basically lasts until you lose it. Even if a disc sat in a box or a car trunk or outside for months or years it will still fly the same and keep the same flight characteristics for years of use.

So if I were in the market for a disc to fit in a particular spot in the bag...And it I wasn't sponsored and therefore able to walk in the factory and try whatever I wished...rather than buy new discs hoping for the perfect fit... I would host a Disc Trading Party.

The average frisbee golf addict has a bunch of discs gathering dust, including, probably, you. If you got together with a few of your buddies you might acquire some hidden/abandoned gems.

Dang Mr. Ellis! A great idea bro. And,although maybe inadvertantly, a green idea. Im always amazed by the amount of discs that people own...myself included. Netflix meets discgolf...hmmmm?...Yeppers! Sign me up Mark. Ship on a quid pro quo basis?
No shipping charges. This is a "try before you buy" party.

Seems so simple...I can't figure out why this is the first time I've heard this. Great idea!
No doubt! Would prob result in people finding thier bag lineup allot quicker.

mark will you adopt me?
Just one more thing on this...Fringe companies like Quest AT could really benefit from this. Sport is way polarized.
Where do I sign up for this party?
Ask your wife if she will trade you for my dog, Pippin. Oh, wait, you are housebroken, right?

None of the manufacturers will be real thrilled with this idea. They would appreciate it if you would buy one model in each weight and color and try them out.

I'm house broken most of the time, I'm afraid to ask her! I might not like the answer!

I like getting used to my discs. They all do different things, so I rotate almost ALL of my discs through my bag to see which ones I want to use for different courses. When I buy a new disc I use it all the time to get used to it. I'm too attached to every one of my discs to go to a party like this. Plus I don't want to contribute to Mark losing his sponsorship!!
