I appreciate the post. I may be off here, but did anyone else see some discrepency in the disc used. Maybe it was pieced together for illustration purposes, but it looked like he drove with a red disc. In the up close footage at the basket, it appears that it is more clear in color. As I said, maybe it was for illustration and effect, nonetheless, it was cool to see it up there with other mainstream sports news, even if they were poking a bit of fun at it.

Wow. I agree with Scottie, not to Mention that the news guy basically talked down DG like its not a REAL sport. Super.
It was a spoof, or at least they didn't catch it the first time and had to try and fake it.

Like the exposure...

But isn't it strange how the announcer said 1000 people actually showed up to watch????

Disc Golf is the Rodney Dangerfield of sports. We get no respect.

LIke to see that fat f.... throw a golf disc that far and hit the basket! (TV guy).

If you watch the 3:00 minute video on the Discmania website you see its not a spoof.  He threw the red disc with his first drive and shanks it, then his second drive is clearly thrown with the one shown going in the basket.  It was yahoo that messed that up, but then they probably aren't paying as much attention to the disc he's throwing that we are...
That is some good info RJH. I was not aware that he had two runs at it. That certainly explains why we see two different discs. Perhaps they missed the second drive from the pier and were forced to use the first attempt to piece it together. Discmania site looks awesome. Honestly, both videos (Discmania and Yahoo) do a good job of building a little suspense by bouncing back and forth between to the two vantage points.
