discraft APX

ok im thinking about switching putters from a challenger to an APX. and i was wondering if you all had some input about this disc

Stick with the Challenger... Never tried the APX but I just got a Challenger and LOVE it. No need to switch.

I have both discs. I wouldn't quit the Challenger, but I think the APX is worth a look. Do I use it for putt's, not really, I use a Putt'r and a Magic, but for me the APX shines as a short approach disc on calm days. It rocks when you are less than 100ft from the basket and just too far to be sure of the putt.

I actually use the Challenger for the same thing, but on windy days.

I will say though that both are currently out of my bag so I can learn so other short putt/approach discs (Wizard and Zone).

I use both as well. Swirl apx's for my primary putter and short upshots, and Challengers for longer upshots and short drives. The apx seems to grab the chains better than the challenger (for me); less slip throughs and less bounce backs. However, if the wind is really blowing i'll putt with the Challenger instead of the Swirl.

i've only thrown apx's a few times and they were solid putters. i stick with my flx challengers though, thinking about switching to soft x challengers maybe. as long as its discraft its gotta be a sweet disc. i would rather be able to put some arm into a more stable disc than worry about an apx flipping though.

Carefull getting attached to the APX. Ask My Hero how hard it is to get ahold of the Swirls. On that note I saw an APX Swirl on ebay today as part of a 3 disc package that was only going for $19. The Swirl is worth that much alone. Get on it APX lovers.

Had my first ACE with an APX and still have it (of course) but I don't use it anymore. Great disc though.

I just traded my Aviar for a soft APX the other day. I love the feel of it but really haven't got a chance to play with it yet.

can someone post up a picture of the edge of the rim on a apex, i have a tournement stamp swirl plastic midrange disc and there is no manufacture name on the bottom, i am ussuming it is an apx because the swirl plastic looks just like the swirl apx pictures i have seen, just not the same color as any i have seen.

Discraft still makes the APX so It's okay to get attached to it.

However, i'd be cautious getting attached to the SWIRL version as the SWIRL process was discontinued several years ago and Swirl APX's are becomming more difficult to find. Two weeks ago a large vendor hosted a tournament in Dallas and he had a large bin of swirl apx's. He was getting $25 for them, which seems to be the market value. I was fortunate and had inside info on them being discontinued so i stocked up for a few months before the news went public.
