The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I proudly carry a mixed bag. A veritable "hodgepodge" of plastic, if you will. Now, I admit to being a tad curious about something. Why is it that every topic posted on this site soon turns into a argument about which brand of disc is better? I understand having a preference for a certain disc over a similar disc, but preferance for an entire brand? Honestly, I think it's stupid. Why choose to miss out on a company's entire offering of oppertunities all for the sake of meaningless loyalty?

"I won't throw (place brand here). Thier discs are crap!"

Really? Every single disc they make is crap? How do you know? Have you thrown every disc they've ever made? I find it very, VERY hard to believe that there isn't one single disc made by the 'other guys' that, if you threw it, you wouldn't like it. What is with this loyalist mentality that seems to have overtaken seemingly sane individuals? According to this logic, when I tee off with my Wraith and hole out with my Rattler, I should be immediately burned at the stake for heresy. What is it about one brand that is so superior to the others? Let's be real about it, folks. They all do the same thing. They make discs for our enjoyment. Why even make it an issue? These are not rhetorical questions, people. Someone, please tell me.

And, please, let's keep it civil...

The only reason I feel brand loyalty (Discraft) is that I personally know most of the people that work there. I also feel like I'm being more environmentally responsible by buying discs that are produced closer to my home (Michigan). (less distance to travel to me = less gas and a lower carbon footprint).

So there, two logical, sane reasons for brand loyalty.

Again, good answer.

LOL! No, sir. It was poignant and well thought out. I just missed it, that's all.
Unless you are trying to get a sponsership f@#k loyalty you should play what fits your game it mighit be Innova-DRIVERS,Discraft-MIDRANGE,and a Gateway-PUTTER and last time I snorted pepsi I almost drowned
No wonder you don't like Pepsi, your suppose to drink it not snort it, it's not cocaine, lol.

Okay that was a lame attempt for a joke.

ok, well for some players, all of one company might be what fits their game.
I throw DGA and Discraft because it is so much cheaper. Why pay $9 for a Star Wraith when I can get an ESP Surge for $6? Or $25 for a candy Roc when I can get a Z Buzz for $6?
hook it up bruce!
Yea no doubt, drop me a line.

If I could find ANY disc at those prices I'd buy them too

I will only buy from this person.....9 for a star Wraith 6 for a ESP or Z ..... are you talking disc black marketing???

Off thought... ...Bought a Dart today, most different putter I've ever ran into. Very straight, but very touchy, glides a lot. Probably more glide then any disc I've thrown in my opinion. Though overall I still really liked it for those longer putts or straight to turnover approach shots, very flexible like Flx plastic but rubbery feel like soft elite X plastic (soft banger, soft challenger).

I tried a Groove for 2nd time, thinking I didn't like the last one due to it being 170g and bought a 175g and still don't think I care for it. Sorry I'm rambling.
My vote goes to Whatever, cause over the years Whatever has shown pure love and devotion to the sport of disc golf. Plus nobody makes discs like Whatever!!!

They a serious brand makes it. I'll try it.
that"s why i only through lat 64 stuff only 7 disc s to choose from baaaahhhh actually though i do love my cores and strikers and valks and viks and orcs and wraith and force and buzzz and wasp and banger and magic and rouge.....acetone and rit dye should sponsor me..... throw what ya know
