Discs for my wife.

My wife and I are relatively new to the sport.  We have been borrowing our friends discs, but we have moved away.  I know the discs I like, but my wife is having a problem.  Admittedly she is a weakling and inexperienced.  What discs would you all suggest for her?  Thanks!

150g discs. No drivers. A mid and a putter. Innova mids: Panther, Wolf, Stingray. Innova Putter: Dx Aviar P&A...it will be a great disc to approach with in a lighter weight. Discraft Mids: Stratus, Comet, Hawk. Discraft Putter: Pro D Magnet, or Focus.

Whatever she chooses though, make sure it is light weight! You can throw them faster and they are easier to control.

i started with just playing with a 155cl shark dx. then I got a 150cl leopard dx and a 165cl aviar dx. it made a great starter set.

instead of a 155cl shark as midrange she can also try a 165cl star mako or buzzz. :)

try to find cool colors and stamps to. Not simply that "Oh girls like pretty things" but that you're taking the time to find discs she would like because she doesn't know what they are. my girlfriend, who is not a girly girl, really appreciated that I got her a 163g Baby Blue Champ with a rainbow stamp. Its teaching her backhand and she is doing great with it. Her 175g Pearly white champ Orc (drool collectors) we picked up at a Play it Again sports and it is the only factory dyed disc I have ever liked (yes Innova dyed one of their coveted Gummy white champ Orcs). And she has a cannon forehand so don't tell me she should have anything lighter. She also picked out an Ion for a putter and decided to get one of the pink ones because she wants good discs but she also likes discs that look good.

I too suggest a mid and a putter. I would also suggest that for you too. Just a mid and a putter for a year, then get a driver and you'll do awesome. I would also say nothing below 155. Get 160's if you can because as she gets better the discs will stay stable for her. 150 discs get too flippy if you're not careful but still a good idea.

to get in love with your discs is so important. so getting a disc in colors and stamps that match the personality of the person throwing it is a really good advice.

i dont think girls need 160cl drivers in the beginning tho, unless they have a really strong arm. if she gets so good the 150cl disks starts to flip, she will be so in love with the game she will buy lots of new disks anyway :) but in the beginning the midrange will go further than the drivers, so i agree on that advice. the leopard is a fair-way driver so thats why i got that as my first driver.
