Distance for kids?

My 8 year old daughter and I played a round yesterday and I was wondering if anybody had tips on her getting more distance. She drives with a 172g Flick. She has a natural anhyzer in her release, so the Flick seems to fight the anhyzer and it goes pretty straight until the end. I feel like she should do something different for her to get more distance. She is getting between 30' and 40' on her drives and I think she has the power to get a little more. Any tips?

teach her how to realease flat and use a lesss stable disc. having good form makes throwing far alot easier.

Kids seem to do really well on forehand shots for distance. And yeah... once she has a little bit of understanding about throwing flatter, a stable (less overstable) disc in the lower weight ranges will increase her D.

You need to get her into light <150 class discs...and understable. Try approach discs....(super light shark)

Do most online stores have 150 class? We don't have any at our local retailers. Do they make all styles in the 150 class?

Here's a link to a pretty good 150 class selection. They even have 130!!!

Go even lighter than 150 Grams to the PREMIUM weights around 130 grams.
These discs allow the less powerful arm to generate the same type of power that we can establish on heavy discs.
Gravity does not pull on them as hard as on the heavy ones that sink quickly when the spin dies, so they glide better.
Try to give the discs more "spin" and "snap" - the faster they are spinning, the longer they stay in the air, the longer they are in the air, the further they will go.
The disc will not fall off to the side until the spin starts to die out.
Snap it like a towel snap!
You can teach them how to snap a towel well and that amount of snap will automatically transfer into their game.
Still emphasize that it is a game of accuracy and not a game of distance.
Take whatever distance you have and get it to land in the middle of the fairway and you got game!

My daughter is 6 and loves her 130 leopard. My son is 10 and his favorite discs are his 156 monarch and 149 orc; he sidearms 75% or so of his drives and gets very good distance.

yeah dude, the lighter weights give more flight for slower arm speeds. Just the way it is. i am sure she doesn't have mad rip yet, so something light and domey, similar to an actual frisbee (kite maybe) will give her more disctance and is a great place to start someone young.

my 9 year old throws a 150 sidewinder and a 150 shark she was getting about 225' at the end of last summer .
she gets more distance with the mid range and it seems to help with her form and control .
I think the distance will come with time but for now have her work on control and putts with a light mid
